The Summer That Changed Everything
When Callie Prescott stepped out of her mom’s rusty Volvo onto the
cobbled driveway of Oceanwind House, the familiar scent of brine,
sunscreen, and blooming honeysuckle hit her like a memory. It had beenthree summers since she’d returned to Sea Harbor, Maine—three years
too long.
The beach town looked exactly the same. The same taffy shop with its
red-and-white striped awning. The same sand-swept boardwalk where
teenagers biked barefoot. And then there was the same boy who haunted
her dreams—Noah Flynn.
He lived next door. He had always been there: the summer crush who
turned into a real kiss, then silence.
She wasn’t sure why she had come back. Her mom said they needed to
"heal". Callie wasn’t sure what needed fixing, but her heart hurt in all the
places she’d never acknowledged.
